Gene Panel is a student-run podcast about all things genetics that can be understood regardless of your background in science. Through Gene Panel, we plan to discuss genetics and make it accessible for those who find it daunting, or perhaps consider it unrelated to everyday life. However, as research in the field advances, we find genetics becoming more applicable to even the average person – simply put, it’s no longer a tool merely used in the lab by scientists to understand a scientific phenomena. As such, discussions will include emerging news and developments in science, which includes breaking these down into their fundamental genetic concepts. Furthermore, certain discussions will be complemented with interviews with professors about their research and overall experience in academia.
